CIVILITY AND UNITY IN AN ERA OF ANGER AND DIVISION
We walk each day into a world fraught with racial tension, political polarization, and an increasingly severe dogmatism. Our anger towards our neighbor, often under the guise of righteousness, serves only to destroy community and divert us from life in God’s kingdom. How can we live with grace, humility, and compelling witness in an era of anger and division? How can we build gospel community with those with whom we have differences? In short, what does it mean to follow Jesus faithfully in a time like this?
This forum will offer compelling answers to these pressing questions. We will be honest about our circumstance and yet hopeful for a better way to live. We will invite people to foster character and practices that unite around shared values of God's kingdom. Attendees will not only be challenged to reject anger and division, but also equipped to build the sort of community that honors our shared humanity.
